Purpose and Goals of the Order of the Arrow |
|
|
A. The purpose of the Order of the Arrow consists of four points: 1. To recognize those campers- scouts and scouters- who best exemplify the scout oath and law in their daily lives and by such recognition cause other campers to conduct themselves in such a manner as to warrant recognition. 2. To develop and maintain camping traditions and spirit. 3. To promote scout camping, which reaches its greatest effectiveness as a part of a unit's camping program, both year round and at summer camp, as directed by the camping committee of the council. 4. Crystallize the scout habit of helpfulness into life purpose of leadership and cheerful service to others. B. The mission of the Anpetu-We Lodge is to achieve the purpose of the Order of the Arrow as an integral part of the Boy Scouts of America in the Greater St. Louis Area Council through positive youth leadership with the support of the Lodge Executive Committee and selected, capable adults. C. The Sioux chapter of the Anpetu-We Lodge exists to help the Lodge fulfill its programs by: participating in Lodge activities (e.g. Reunions, Fun Weekend, One Day of Service, etc.), camping promotion, service projects, maintaining ceremony and dance teams, and other duties as required by the Lodge. |
